Motoyuki Ishize currently serves as assistant minister and director-general of the Latin American and Caribbean Affairs Bureau at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA).
Prior to his current appointment, Ishize was the director-general of the Intelligence and Analysis Service and served as deputy assistant minister. His diplomatic postings include serving as minister at the Embassy of Japan in the Russian Federation and as a counsellor for Japan’s delegations to both the OECD and the United Nations.
Domestically, Ishize has held key leadership positions within the Cabinet Secretariat’s Trans-Pacific Partnership Government Headquarters and as director of the Japanese Nationals Overseas Safety Division.
