Íñigo Guevara Moyano is managing director of Janes, where he leads the firm’s global defense consulting practice. In this role, he oversees strategic advisory projects for government and private-sector clients across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. His accomplishments include generating over 30 percent in direct sales, optimizing productivity across more than sixty annual projects, and establishing a network of in-country subject-matter experts to support procurement activities in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Guevara is an adjunct professor in Georgetown University’s Security Studies Program, where he teaches a graduate-level course on the international arms trade. He also serves as a member of the board of directors and treasurer of the Inter-American Defense College Foundation.
Previously, he served as director of analysis at Mexico’s Office of the National Security Council, advising the federal government on defense procurement and infrastructure. From 2010 to 2015, he was a senior analyst at CENTRA Technology in Washington, DC, supporting U.S. defense and intelligence clients. His earlier roles include chief of statistical analysis at a state-level law enforcement agency in Querétaro, Mexico.
Guevara holds a BA in international business from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) and an MA in international security from Georgetown University. He is also a graduate of the Strategy and Defense Policy course at the National Defense University’s Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies.
