Ignacio De Loizaga is the director of market development at Xoom, a PayPal remittance service. He is currently focused on revitalizing Xoom/PayPal’s remittance offerings by transforming its payor partner network to support new disbursement options and stablecoin technology use cases.
Previously, De Loizaga led international business development efforts for the expansion of PayPal’s PYUSD stablecoin, as part of the company’s Blockchain, Crypto, and Digital Currencies team. Earlier in his career, he served as chief product officer at Teldat, a leading European provider of data networking infrastructure and cybersecurity products for telecommunications companies and corporations.
De Loizaga’s career has centered on the transformative potential of emerging technologies and their practical applications in developing impactful products and services. Whether expanding a company’s portfolio or driving international growth, his passion lies in unlocking new business opportunities through cutting-edge engineering.
He holds a master of engineering in computer systems and networks from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and completed an in-house MBA program at the IESE School of Business. He is also the co-author of the Nature Scientific Report, “Identifying Key Players in Dark Web Marketplaces through Bitcoin Transaction Networks,” produced in collaboration with the Alan Turing Institute in the United Kingdom.
