Executive Director, OBSERVACOM

Gustavo Gómez became the executive director of OBSERVACOM (Observatorio Latinoamericano de Regulación, Medios y Convergencia) in 2015. He is a researcher and Uruguayan professor as well as an expert on freedom of expression. He is an international consultant and has worked with international organizations like UNESCO, the Organization of American States, the Special Rapporteur for Freedom of Expression at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, the World Bank and the Carter Center, among others. He was the national director of Telecommunications (DINATEL) and advisor on regulation and public policy of audiovisual media and telecommunications to the President of Uruguay during the presidency of José Mujica. 

Gómez was an event speaker at the Dialogue.
