Gustavo Berganza is a Guatemalan journalist and sociologist. He has been a reporter, editor, columnist, and director of media organizations in his country of origin. Berganza has conducted research on the interaction between the media and the political system. He has also been an undergraduate and graduate professor for social theory, communication, and journalism. In addition to his role as director of the Asociación Desarrollo, Organización, Servicios y Estudios Socioculturales (DOSES), he is also part of the Electoral Observation Mission in Guatemala (MOE Gt), a consortium of civil society organizations whose purpose is to monitor the integrity of the 2023 electoral process.
