Gustau Alegret is an international journalist who works in Washington DC (USA) for the international news channel NTN24. He is the managing editor and anchor of Club de Prensa and Cuestión de Poder, two daily broadcast shows which sets up the daily news with interviews. Alegret has won a number of journalism awards, including four Emmy Awards and a Napolitan Victory Award. He is an expert on political and corporate communications, and a World Economic Forum’s Media Leader.

He has +25 years of experience working in various media outlets in Spain and in the U.S., specializing in politics. In Washington, he follows the day-to-day news of the White House, U.S. Congress, State Department, think-tanks, and Latin American politics, a region he frequently visits.

Alegret was the U.S. Correspondent for RAC1 from 2007 to 2017. Previously, he worked as a journalist for Radio Intereconomía, Ona Catalana Radio, Europa Press Agency, COM Ràdio, Plataforma Digital (Canal +), and Catalunya Ràdio, among others. He has served as director of communications at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism, and Consumer Affairs (Catalan Government); and worked as a strategic communication consultant at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and at the corporate communication company Intermedia GdC.

His academic experience includes visiting professor in Political Communication, Management Crisis, and Media Training. He is member of the White House Correspondents’ Association, WHCA (associate); Foreign Press Correspondents Association, FPCA; National Association of Hispanic Journalism, NAHJ; and Col·legi de Periodistes de Catalunya (Catalan Journalist Association).

Alegret graduated in Journalism (1997) from Pompeu Fabra University; completed the Executive Program in Strategic Communication Management from ESADE Business School (2006); and has the Executive Certificate Program in Business Administration and Professional English from Georgetown University (2008).

Alegret was an event speaker at the Dialogue.
