Gloria de la Fuente González currently serves as Chile’s undersecretary of foreign affairs under the government of president Gabriel Boric. Her extensive career has centered around issues of transparency, serving as a consultant to the Chilean Transparency Council, Eurosocial, and the Transparency and Access to Public Information Network (RTA). She has held notable positions including project director of Chile Transparente, the Chilean chapter of Transparency International, and has been a board member of Fundación Proacceso.
Her governmental experience includes roles at the Ministry General Secretariat of the Presidency. She has been president, executive director, and area director of Fundación Chile 21, and served as a member of the Permanent Advisory Council for State Reform in Chile. Additionally, she advised the Chilean Transparency Council, ultimately becoming its president.
Her international engagements include serving as president of the OECD’s Working Party of Senior Public Integrity Officials. She has also been a member of the Advisory Council to the University of Chile’s Public Policy Center and a professor at the School of Government at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
Undersecretary de la Fuente González holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and a PhD in social sciences from the University of Chile. She has taught at several Chilean universities on subjects related to democratic transparency, integrity, and quality.
