Fernanda Magnotta, PhD, a non-resident senior fellow at The Dialogue’s Brazil Program and a senior fellow at CEBRI, Brazil’s leading think tank, is a specialist in U.S. foreign policy and U.S.–China–Latin America relations. She coordinates the International Relations Program at the Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation (FAAP) in São Paulo, Brazil, and serves on the Editorial Board of the Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation (FUNAG), the academic arm of Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
She is also a prominent international analyst at CNN Brasil and has previously contributed as a columnist for UOL and commentator for CBN radio. In government-related roles, she has trained diplomats in different countries and lectured at Brazil’s Army and Naval War Colleges.
A Fulbright scholar (2022–23) at the University of Southern California (USC), Dr. Magnotta was selected for the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)’s W30 Program and served as a visiting professor at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in China. In 2024, she covered the U.S. elections on the ground in Washington, D.C., and in 2025 was decorated as an officer of the Order of Rio Branco.
