Felipe Muñoz is the chief of the migration unit at the Inter-American Development Bank. Previously, he served as the presidential advisor for the Colombian and Venezuelan border, where he coordinated the government’s response to the migratory flow from Venezuela at the national and local levels, as well as the related efforts of actors such as international and civil society organizations.

In the past, Muñoz has served as senior advisor to the board of executive directors of the Inter-American Development Bank. With an extensive experience in the Colombian public sector, Muñoz has worked as superintendent of surveillance and private security, director of the national intelligence agency, advisor to the mayor’s office of Bogota, and the ministry of finance and public credit.

Muñoz graduated from the Universidad Externado de Colombia, where he obtained a degree in finance and international relations. Additionally, Muñoz obtained a master’s degree in urban and regional planning at the London School of Economics and Political Science in the United Kingdom.
