Fabio Almeida, an experienced executive with more than twenty-five years managing global business operations, serves as Executive Vice President for Paper and Packaging at Suzano. In this role, he oversees Suzano’s Paper and Packaging business unit, managing global operations with full P&L responsibility. Recently, he relocated to Arkansas to lead and implement Suzano’s strategic vision for expanding its packaging operations in the Americas.
Almeida joined Suzano in 2007 as Executive Manager of the Paper Business Unit, with added responsibility for the company’s distribution operations in Brazil and Argentina. In 2013, he became Global Logistics Director, and in 2017, he transitioned to Suzano’s pulp business as Director for International Pulp Sales and Operations across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Earlier in his career, Almeida worked at electrical equipment manufacturer ABB and the U.S. multinational DuPont, where he managed operations in both Brazil and the United States.
Returning to the United States is a homecoming for Almeida, who previously spent several years in Richmond, Virginia, during his tenure at DuPont. He holds an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at MIT’s Sloan School of Business. Over his career, Almeida has lived in Brazil, the United States, and Austria, and is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
With extensive expertise in leading complex supply chain processes for specialty products and in integrating post-merger businesses, Almeida continues to oversee Suzano’s Paper and Packaging Business Unit (UNPE) operations in Brazil while based in Arkansas.
