Evelyn Pinto is a social scientist, feminist, and founder of Unamos’s Red de Mujeres. She is a human rights defender with an emphasis on children’s and women’s rights. She has worked for more than 20 years with Nicaraguan and international non-governmental organizations as a coordinator of education and training programs and projects on gender, children’s rights, education, leadership, and citizen engagement.

Pinto holds a master’s degree in children’s rights and leadership and a postgraduate degree in organizational development.

Pinto was released from prison after 15 months of having been kidnapped and sentenced to eight years in prison for undermining national sovereignty and for cybercrimes. She has been exiled and stripped of her nationality.
