Eric Olander is the co-founder of the China Global South Project (CAP), an independent, nonpartisan media initiative dedicated to examining all aspects of China’s engagement with the Global South, particularly in Africa. A fluent Mandarin speaker and veteran China-watcher, he brings more than twenty-five years of journalism experience at leading international media organizations, including CNN, the BBC, and FRANCE 24.
He holds a BA in East African history from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MA in Chinese public affairs from the University of Hong Kong.
