Cristiana Chamorro is a Nicaraguan journalist and the founder of the Violeta Chamorro Foundation, a non-profit focused on freedom of expression, public access to information, and other initiatives on democracy, education, and journalism. During her tenure, the Violeta Chamorro Foundation has found success creating networks between NGOs, the press, and civil society, lobbying for legislation in favor of the freedom of expression, and conducting research and analysis concerning both the press and freedom of expression.

In the past, Chamorro was the director of La Prensa, Nicaragua’s most-read and longest-running newspaper, and she served as a special advisor to former Nicaraguan President Violeta Chamorro.

She completed her undergraduate degree at Central American University in Managua and her MA at Ohio University.

Chamorro was an event speaker at the Dialogue.
