Claudia Lagos is the director of the Department of Social Communication and an associate professor at the University of Chile. She serves as the editor of the academic journal Communication and Media and as an associate editor of the journal Journalism Studies. Lagos is also an adjunct researcher at the Millennium Nucleus for the Study of Politics, Public Opinion, and Media in Chile (MEPOP) and at the Research Nucleus on Television and Society (NITS).

She is the co-author of the book Campo en obras: Postales y apuntes sobre los estudios de periodismo en Chile (with Antoine Faure) and the editor of El diario de Agustín.

Lagos holds a PhD in communications and media from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a master’s degree in gender studies with a focus on social sciences, and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and social communication from the University of Chile. Her research areas include journalism studies, the political economy of communications, and feminism in journalism and media.

Lagos was an event speaker at the Dialogue.
