Beatriz Leycegui Gardoqui is a partner at SAI Derecho & Economía. She has more than 20 years of experience working in international trade and has been a researcher at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) since 2011, where she previously worked as a professor too.
Leycegui Gardoqui served as undersecretary of foreign trade at the Secretariat of Economy of Mexico from December 2006 to August 2011. Prior, she served as legal director of the Trade and Industrial Development Secretariat (now the Secretariat of the Economy) during the NAFTA negotiations.
She is a graduate of the Escuela Libre de Derecho and she holds a master’s degree in international relations from Columbia University in New York.
