Barbara McDougall is a Canadian politician and served as chair of the International Development Research Centre from 2007 to 2012.
Currently she is an advisor to Aird & Berlis LLP, counseling clients on international business development, corporate governance, and government relations. As a Member of Parliament for nine years from 1984 to 1993, she held several cabinet posts including secretary of state for external affairs, minister of employment and immigration, minister of state for privatization and regulatory affairs, and minister of state for finance. She has also been the chairperson of the board of directors of AT&T Canada, an honorary director of the Bank of Nova Scotia, a director of Unique Solutions Design Ltd., and a director of Foresters Securities Inc.
McDougall received her B.A. from the University of Toronto and is an officer of the Order of Canada.
McDougall joined the Dialogue as a Member in 1994.
