Alvin Camba is a critical materials specialist at the Association of Universities, Inc., and a faculty affiliate at the Center for International Environment and Resource Policy and the Climate Policy Lab at the Fletcher School at Tufts University.
He received his PhD in sociology from Johns Hopkins University. His research has received multiple best paper awards from several academic networks, including the International Studies Association, the American Sociological Association, and GRADNAS, and has been published in leading development and political economy journals such as Review of International Political Economy, Development and Change, and Energy Research & Social Science. He has also contributed to widely circulated policy papers from think tanks such as the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the International Republican Institute, and the Center for International Private Enterprise on China’s activities in Southeast Asia. Camba has served as principal investigator on a Minerva-funded project comparing Chinese and U.S. relational power in Southeast Asia.
