Alissa is a talented singer and performer known for her unique fusion of jazz and Brazilian music, seamlessly bridging the rich and diverse musical traditions of Brazil and the United States. She has collaborated with musicians from Brazil, Ethiopia, India, Israel, Senegal, and Mali on Finding My Voice, a project dedicated to using the power of voice for authentic self-expression, empowerment, and fostering connections with cultures across Africa and its diaspora. This initiative aims to rekindle the ancestral ties that link us across time and continents.

Sanders is a participant in the Brazil chapter of the CAF initiative “Somos Grandes,” which was held in Salvador de Bahía through “Salvador Sonora,” an initiative of the secretary of Culture and Tourism and the secretary of Development, Employment, and Income.
