Alex Perkins is a senior Democratic strategist at Mehlman Consulting, where he advises companies on trade, supply chain, tariff, and geopolitical issues. He works with clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies, helping them navigate policy risks and develop effective government relations strategies.
Before joining Mehlman Consulting, Perkins led government relations and public affairs efforts at Stellantis (formerly Fiat Chrysler), where he played a key role in advancing the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and helped coordinate a coalition of more than 100 companies that secured congressional approval of the trade pact. Earlier in his career, he served as trade counsel to the House Ways and Means Committee and as counsel to Senator Ron Wyden, working on major U.S. trade agreements and international economic policy.
Perkins has been recognized by Washingtonian as one of Washington’s “500 Most Influential People Shaping Policy” in trade policy and was named one of The Hill’s “Top Lobbyists” in 2025. He serves on the boards of the Washington International Trade Association and the Silverado Policy Accelerator Strategic Council.
