Aldrin Ballesteros is a U.S.-Mexico policy expert and entrepreneur, formerly the communications manager for the Mexico Institute at the Wilson Center. Originally from the U.S.-Mexico border region—Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, and El Paso, Texas—Ballesteros is committed to strengthening U.S.-Mexico cooperation across diplomatic, economic, and cultural dimensions. His previous experience includes serving as a staff assistant at the Wilson Center’s Mexico Institute, working in congressional offices in Washington, DC, and his home district, and contributing to the U.S. Department of State’s Virtual Student Federal Service (VSFS) program. In addition to his policy work, Ballesteros is a managing partner at BM Group, a boutique asset management firm.
He holds a master of arts in international relations from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where he focused on the Americas and specialized in technology and innovation. His graduate thesis explored the role of artificial intelligence in global governance, trade, and regulatory frameworks—an area he continues to engage with professionally.
