Adiam Emery is executive general manager of the city of Seattle, Washington. She is responsible for helping define and implement Mayor Harrell’s climate and transportation investments and oversees Parks assets and educational programs. applying an equity framework to the promises and plans of Mayor Harrell. As a refugee who came to the United States for an education and opportunity, she understands and advocates for the needs of Seattle’s immigrant communities. Emery joins the Mayor’s Office from Seattle’s Department of Transportation, where she served as the division director for Transportation Operations and oversaw policies to strengthen safety and align transit-oriented development with the City’s equity values. Emery has a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Washington.
