Abraham Banegas Molina

Technical Official, Association of Human Rights Cozumel Trans

Abraham Banegas Molina is a gay man born and residing in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, with more than 10 years of experience in the promotion and defense of human rights of LGBTIQ people in Honduras. He works as a Technical Official in the Association of Human Rights Cozumel Trans, but also volunteers as: Technical Secretary for the Committee for Sexual Diversity in Honduras, Member of the Committee for Trans Persons of Honduras and the Coordinator of the Interinstitutional Committee for HIV Response in Honduras.

Since he began to work with Honduras’ LGBTIQ movement in 2008, he has been committed to support actions to mitigate stigma and discrimination and violation of human rights due to sexual orientation and expression of gender in Tegucigalpa. He has contributed to the creation and revsion of the Law for the Recognition of the identity and gender expression for Trans Persons, the Ley of Equality and Equity, and other pending documents that aim to guarantee respect for the rights of LGBTIQ persons.

Molina was an event speaker at the Dialogue.
