Starting in 2022, the Inter-American Dialogue has initiated a line of work focused on migrant children. Within this framework, we have established a working group composed of experts from the region, seeking to generate proposals aimed at improving the situation of this vulnerable group. The working group held its first meeting and as a result, the document Rights without Borders: A Commitment to Migrant and Refugee Children in the Americas was launched with 10 actions that have been identified as priorities, one of which refers to the importance of having statistical information on migrant children.

Specifically, it was identified as a priority to design, implement and strengthen mechanisms for the collection of quantitative and qualitative information on migrant children and adolescents at the regional, national, and local levels.

Based on the importance of having information on migrant children, we organized this webinar that presents significant global and regional efforts to generate information. In addition, it will address the challenge for states to incorporate the issue of migrant children into their information systems.
