Join us for a webinar on “Home Visiting Programs for Early Childhood Development in Latin America and the Caribbean,” jointly hosted by the Inter-American Dialogue (IAD) and UNICEF LACRO. This event will explore the key findings and best practices from several home visitation programs that aim to promote early childhood development through family support and community engagement across Latin America and the Caribbean.

This webinar will present a comprehensive study on home-visiting programs in ten countries across Latin America and the Caribbean. The study includes a detailed analysis of program characteristics, effectiveness, and challenges as identified by program managers. Additionally, the webinar will discuss the role of home visiting programs in improving child development outcomes, particularly for children under six years old, and examine innovative practices and lessons learned to inform policy and program improvements.

This webinar offers a unique opportunity for a knowledgeable audience to gain valuable insights into the effectiveness of home-visiting programs in supporting early childhood development. Participants will understand the implications of these programs for national and regional policy and engage with experts and policymakers to explore opportunities for collaboration and scaling successful practices. The discussion will be enriched with practical recommendations and evidence-based strategies that have shown positive impacts on child development, making it a valuable session for those involved in policy-making, program implementation, and research in care services, care systems, and early childhood development.

The panel of experts includes Gabriela Guerrero (Senior Researcher, Grupo de Análisis para el Desarrollo – GRADE), Florencia López Boo (Director, Global TIES for Children, Universidad de Nueva York), Irma Luna Fuentes, (Deputy Director of Early Childhood Education, Secretary of Public Education, Mexico), Mónica Rubio (Regional Social Policy Advisor for Latin America and the Caribbean, UNICEF), and Ariel Fiszbein (Director, Education Program, Inter-American Dialogue).

Join us on Tuesday, August 27, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM EDT to explore the intersections between home visitation programs and early childhood development.
