REMDI – Regional Network for the Measurement of Child Development and the Education Program at the Inter-American Dialogue invite you to a webinar exploring how countries across Latin America are strengthening the measurement of early childhood development and translating evidence into effective public policy.

Across the region, a wide variety of tools are used to assess child development. While this diversity reflects innovation and local adaptation, it also raises an important question: How can we turn different measurement approaches into a shared language that better informs policy and protects children’s rights?

The discussion will be grounded in the report Instruments and Methodologies for Assessing Early Childhood Development: A Survey in Selected Countries of Latin America, developed by UNICEF Argentina with technical authorship by Giorgina Garibotto. Although the measurement landscape continues to evolve, the study offers an essential foundation for understanding where the region stands today and where it may be headed.

The Evidence in Motion webinar invites participants to look beyond the technical instrument and focuses on the challenges of implementation and management. The discussion will address three key dimensions of measurement:

  • Nominal measurement: To guarantee individual rights.
  • Population-level measurement: To inform large-scale policy and strategy design.
  • Intermediate states: As spaces for transition and methodological learning.

Join us on Wednesday, March 25, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM ET to learn about concrete experiences in early childhood measurement in Argentina, Mexico, El Salvador, and the Dominican Republic, as well as contextual challenges.
