This is the fourth webinar in an event series on evaluation and civil society.

Official evaluation data can inform more relevant initiatives aligned to the needs of students and can greatly enrich the efforts that the educational community, within and beyond the public sector, implement in the post-pandemic world and in the future.

Nonetheless, in a 2020 survey completed by a select group of 35 leading civil society organizations in the region, nearly half responded that they cannot easily access, or effectively use, official national or international databases in their countries.

The objective of this event is to identify the barriers that limit the access and use of official data and to present initiatives and mechanisms that exist to make it more friendly and useful for civil society in general and for the educational community, specifically. The discussion will focus on the following questions:

  • What are the barriers that prevent the effective use of official national or international evaluation data in the educational community?
  • What mechanisms and initiatives exist to facilitate the access and use of official data within and outside the public sector?
  • How can collaboration with civil society contribute to improving the processes for collecting, analyzing, and using official data?

In this event, the Dialogue is pleased to welcome experts who will present experiences and initiatives that are relevant in the contexts of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, and Mexico.
