In the midst of upcoming elections, the possibility of the construction of a canal, and an increase in political opposition by religious groups, Nicaragua is experiencing dynamic changes both politically and economically. The Inter-American Dialogue and the Nicaraguan Foundation for Economic and Social Development (FUNIDES), a leading Central American think-tank, will host a round-table discussion on the current economic and political situation in the country. The session will focus specifically on the outlook for reducing poverty and strengthening the country’s labor force.
