Haiti faces a series of critical political and economic challenges in the coming period. Widespread protests and strikes earlier this year forced President Jovenel Moise to once again replace the nation’s prime minister.  Parliamentary and local elections are due in the fall of 2019 as the United Nations plans to wind down its 15-year peacekeeping and stabilization mission. Against this backdrop, the Haitian government seeks to establish internal stability and greater security while facing strong financial headwinds and a changing landscape with regards to longstanding partners including the United States, Venezuela, and Taiwan. What does the future hold for the Haiti?
