The Inter-American Dialogue is pleased to host a second discussion on diaspora and remittance company partnerships for development.

This discussion is part of a larger initiative by the Inter-American Dialogue and the Calvert Foundation that consists of identifying synergies between diaspora organizations from Central America and money transfer companies in order to promote migrant philanthropy in the region. As part of this initiative, remittance industry leaders as well as representatives from diaspora communities participate in round table conversations regarding interests, priorities, and potential contributions to philanthropic projects.

The second discussion will focus on ideas for implementing an education project with support from migrant groups and remittance companies. Experts will begin the conversation by briefly presenting a framework for implementation, which includes stakeholder engagement, development project selection, and migrant outreach and marketing.  A lively and wide-ranging exchange with participants will follow.
