The Inter-American Dialogue is pleased to host a private dinner discussion on Capitol Hill featuring Foreign Minister Hugo Martínez of El Salvador and co-hosted by Representatives Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE), Joaquin Castro (D-TX), Norma Torres (D-CA), Tom Emmer (R-MN), and Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ).
The dinner with Minister Martínez will afford members of Congress and high-level public officials the opportunity to have an open and frank discussion about the governance and development challenges the Northern Triangle countries (El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras) face, their commitments to addressing these issues, and the merits of the proposed US aid package.
The Dialogue’s Congressional Program seeks to engage members of Congress and Congressional staff members on key policy issues concerning the Western Hemisphere and increase the presence of regional voices in US foreign policy debates.
The Dialogue is a hemispheric organization that builds networks of cooperation and action to advance democratic resilience, shared prosperity, social inclusion, and sustainable development across the Americas. We impact policy debates, devise solutions, and enhance collaboration to unlock meaningful change in the Western Hemisphere.
