The Inter-American Dialogue is pleased to host Luis Eduardo Montealegre, attorney general of Colombia, for a private, off-the-record discussion on the state of justice in the country. Montealegre was appointed to the position on March 22, 2012. A graduate of the Universidad Externado de Colombia, Montealgre specialized in criminal and constitutional law. He previously served as a judge and prosecutor general. He was also a magistrate of the Constitutional Court of Colombia, and director of the Center for Philosophy and Law Research at Universidad Externado de Colombia.
