Please join the Dialogue for a special session featuring Sergio Bitar and Moisés Naím on recent developments roiling Chilean politics and the implications for the region.
Bitar, one of Chile’s leading political figures and part of Michelle Bachelet’s New Majority coalition, will be interviewed by Naím, host of the NTN24 television program Efecto Naím. The conversation will cover an array of topics, including Bachelet’s reform agenda, recent corruption scandals, political discontent, a slowing economy, and Chile’s role in the region and globally. An initial exchange between Naím and Bitar will be followed by a wider discussion with participants.
Bitar and Naím are among Latin America’s foremost public intellectuals. Bitar, a senior fellow at the Dialogue focusing on global trends, was a Senator and served as Minister under three administrations in Chile. Naím is currently a Distinguished Fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace as well as an internationally-syndicated columnist and best-selling author. Both are Dialogue members.
