We are pleased to share with you two documents that discuss the main findings of UNESCO’s Education for All (EFA) Global Monitoring Report 2009 on the progress of countries in Latin America and the Caribbean towards the six EFA goals: early childhood care and education; universal primary education; learning needs of young people and adults; adult literacy; gender parity and gender equality; and quality of education. The first document provides an overview of the achievements and pending challenges for Latin America and the Caribbean in these six areas, and it analyzes whether governance reforms have made school systems more equitable. The second document offers a summary of the most important facts and figures for the region.
