This post is also available in: Português Español

On June 4, 2024, the Inter-American Dialogue’s Rule of Law Program and Ágora published a policy brief, “Uruguay: Insecurity and Organized Crime.” This report synthesizes the issues addressed in a forum organized in March 2024 on security and organized crime issues in Uruguay. Various actors participated in this exchange, including representatives from civil society, academia, journalists, the executive branch, the judiciary, the legislative branch, the Public Ministry and international cooperation, as well as political leaders from both the government and the opposition.

This is the first policy brief in a series on security policies and the rule of law in the region launched by the Dialogue’s Rule of Law Program.
