Private Roundtable with Hugo de Zela

The Inter-American Dialogue hosted on September 21 a private roundtable featuring Hugo de Zela, the Peruvian vice minister of Foreign Relations, and prominent members of the Washington, DC policy community. The discussion highlighted the vice minister’s position on the best way for Peru and the international community to handle the crises in Venezuela and Nicaragua. He also discussed tackling corruption in the region, measures for cooperation with other states and inter-state organizations, as well as the relevance of transatlantic partnerships. Vice minister de Zela addressed some of the upcoming plans his government has in its preparation to the upcoming 73rd United Nations General Assembly this month in New York City.
