President’s Leadership Council Meeting

On March 18, 2021 the Dialogue’s President’s Leadership Council met virtually to discuss the priorities of the Biden administration and the US Congress towards Latin America.  

Members met with Juan Gonzalezsenior advisor, special assistant to the president and National Security Council senior director for the Western Hemisphere, and Representative Joaquin Castro (D-San Antonio, TX). The discussions were moderated by Amna Nawaz, national correspondent for PBS NewsHour and a Dialogue member and Dialogue board member Donna Hrinak, senior vice president for Corporate Affairs at Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. 

Topics discussed include the latest developments at the US border with Mexico, the challenging situation in Venezuela, US-China-Latin America relations, the role of the United States in increasing vaccine supply in the region and protecting democratic processes in the Americas.
