    This document is an analysis of the Preferential School Grant policy (SEP), implemented in Chile in 2008, in areas of legislation, implementation, results, financing and transparency. The SEP is conceived as a permanent policy and aims to contribute to solve the chronic problem of results inequality in the Chilean education system, particularly in the strong relation between the learning levels of students and the socio-economic levels of their families.
