    Chinese finance to sovereign governments, state-owned enterprises and a handful of private firms in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) surged to $20.1 billion in 2013. These estimates, as well as data on Chinese financing from previous years, are available in the China-Latin America Finance Database, a collaborative project between the Inter-American Dialogue (IAD) and the Global Economic Governance Initiative (GEGI) at Boston University.
