  • The World Bank on April 8 trimmed its economic growth forecast for Latin America and the Caribbean, saying the region will see growth of 2.1 percent this year, down from 2.4 percent last year. Days later, the International Monetary Fund slightly raised its growth expectation for the region this year, to 2.3 percent, warning that the conflict in the Middle East is disrupting global growth.
