  • Panama’s Supreme Court on Jan. 29 ruled unconstitutional a contract held by a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based CK Hutchison Holdings to operate ports at both ends of the Panama Canal, with the court citing irregularities in regulators’ 2021 decision to grant the company a 25-year extension of its concession. The ruling could disrupt the sale of CK Hutchison’s global port holdings to a BlackRock and MSC-led consortium.
