  • Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced on Oct. 8 that her government’s security strategy will strengthen intelligence to reduce kidnappings, murder and extortion. Sheinbaum unveiled her plan just days after the killing of Alejandro Arcos, who had taken office as the mayor of Chilpancingo less than a week before.
